Warsaw electronic jazz groupBaaba will perform live to an exquisite selection of Polish classic animated films. The program includes Academy Award-winner Zbigniew Rybczynski's New Book, auteur Walerian Borowczyk's Banner of Youth, Miroslaw Kijowicz's Cages (Grand Prix at Annency, 1967), as well as the visually innovative Stairs by Stanislaw Schabenbeck and Chair by Daniel Szczechura. This compilation offers a captivating look into the metaphorical, playful and stylistically rich world of Polish animation, incorporating the most interesting currents in Polish graphic arts, painting, puppetry and experimental theatre. Baaba - described as the Polish underground supergroup - often collaborates with a wide range of jazz and underground musicians and producers, mixing jazz and rock melodies with psychedelic beats and danceable funk. The lineup includes: Bartosz Weber (guitar, sampler), Piotr Zabrodzki (bass, keys, voice), Macio Moretti (drums).
