Philly Live, WYBE

The life of Casimir Pulaski, and a major documentary film-in-progress on his contributions to the American Revolution, will be the twin subjects of a very special edition of "The International Connection" on the prime-time talk show Philly Live, presented by Philadelphia's public television station WYBE Channel 35 (also on cable channels 24, Comcast, and 25, Adelphia). The show is repeated the following day at 2.00 AM and again at 5.00 PM, but check local listings to confirm.) A presentation will be made by Polish documentary film and television director, Jolanta Kessler-Chojecka, whose extensive research and pre-production work are aimed at completion of her film biography, "Casimir Pulaski - Polish and American Hero", in time for an international ceremony on Pulaski Day in October, 2004, in Savannah, Georgia, where the "Founder of the U.S. Cavalry" was killed 225 years before. Joining in the live discussion by telephone will be the American historian and author of an outstanding biography, "Casimir Pulaski", retired Colonel Francis Kajencki. That the military branch so fondly associated by Americans with last-minute rescues began as a motley assemblage of Polish and French officers and disgruntled British and German troops is only one of the many fascinating elements in the extraordinary life of this Polish patriot and American hero.
